Routes & Projects
Each route equals one horse. Go to File > New Route (Ctrl/Cmd+N) or click the plus icon in the timeline.
Click the pen icon on the route in the timeline. From there you can edit the name, pick a color swatch (or use the custom color picker), and choose an icon. You can also toggle Match Horse Color to Route Color in Settings so the horse adopts the route hue.
Open Edit Route (pen icon) and set a Start Offset. This delays the route’s first move by the chosen time; millisecond precision is supported for tight synchronization.
Clear Active Route keeps the route slot but removes all points and triggers. Delete Route permanently removes it from the project. Both options are available in the route's context menu (right-click) or timeline actions.
Drawing & Editing
To add to the end, activate Draw (P) and click on the arena. To insert between points, keep Draw active, hold Alt (or Option) and click directly on the route line where the new point should go.
Use the Select tool (V), click a point to reveal its handles, then align or retract the handle toward the next/previous point to straighten the segment.
Select a point with Select (V), then drag its Bezier handles to round the curve. There’s no auto-smoothing yet, so adjust manually for best results.
Ctrl/Cmd-click to add/remove points individually, or Shift-drag to box-select multiple points. Drag the selection to move it, or use Shift + Arrow Keys to nudge.
Press E to activate the Erase Tool, then drag over segments of the active route. You can adjust the erase radius in the tool settings.
Triggers, Moves, and Timing
Triggers are events tied to route points (e.g., gait change, visibility). Open the Trigger menu via the floating buttons bottom-right or press T. Click on the route to place a trigger, then configure its behavior.
Press M or open Move Presets from the floating buttons. Choose a saved preset (direction, gait, etc.) and insert it onto the active route without reconfiguring each parameter.
Yes. Use each route’s Start Offset in Edit Route to stagger beginnings. Timing supports milliseconds for precise layering.
A dedicated stop/pause trigger isn’t available yet. Workarounds include setting short segments with very low gait speed or adjusting timing in the timeline to mimic pauses.
Camera & View
Use the Third-Person Follow Camera: double-click a route in the timeline to follow from behind. A true first-person view isn’t available yet. Pan with W/A/S/D or arrow keys.
Exporting, Sharing & Collaboration
Select the route(s) in the timeline, then go to File > Export Route(s)... to generate a .json file. They can import it via File > Import Route(s).... Tip: Rename a route in Edit Route before exporting for a clearer file name.
Only the selected routes are exported. Select multiple routes first if you need a combined export.
Real-time collaboration isn’t supported. Please share .json exports and re-import updates to work together on a project.
Miscellaneous Tips
Use the eye icon in the timeline to toggle visibility. Use the Solo mode to show only the chosen route during editing or playback.
Press ? or Shift+? to open the keyboard shortcut modal, or navigate to Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
Use Edit > Clear Scene to remove all routes from the current project instantly.
